I know this has nothing to do with the CU.... But I was at Celebration3 & Pex told me he would look in to this as I said to him what is the point of having slots for 2weapons
3orderances
armor
reactor
engine
booster
droid interface
counterlauncher
shields
and anything else I might have miss
if the only way to get all of that into your ship is to uselower level equipment in the ships ment to be top dogs
When I first started beta for JTL the mass was to low then insted of solving the problem they made it to high all I want to see atleast
2weapons 1 or maybe 2 orderances everything else fit as well as have some room so I can astroid mine without having to have a full crew cause the time I am on is when their isnt alot of people online from my guild or even on my server that would be willing to fly with me or to ride with me.
I will be getting a mining ship but I would like to be able to mine when I want not when everyone is on
Thanks

The point is, to give you options and make you make choices, so that not every ship you face of Type Blah will be exactly alike. Reactor Overload makes the Energy Consumption choice game useless, Capacitor Overcharge does the same with weapons and capacitors. Now someone is whining about having to choose due to mass? yeesh.
You do realize Pex is Events Coordinator Extraordinaire, but has no real concerns with JtL development right? I'm hoping his looking into your issue just means a quick trip to the circular file, because there really isn't much wrong with the mass system, other than High End parts don't gain enough effectiveness for their mass.

Yep yep.... its all about the choices you make when fixing up your ship.
That is the wonderful thing about JTL.... its your own personal touches to your own ship. Yeah they look the same but when it boils down to it you know that its your BABY becuase you put it together.
Maybe my friends Firespray looks like mine but, I have top notch stuff in mine. I know that its a top notch ship...
Gives you a sense of pride dont it?

Exactly. Ship customization is really fun to make use of.
For example, with an A-wing, I always put a nice gun in then work the rest of the components around it. I have a friend who does the opposite - he gets his favourite engine, shield, etc - then puts a gun in with however much mass is left over.
Basically, you can fly whatever kind of ship you want if you have the paitence. Want to have the best guns you can, and basically fly a weapon with a chassis glued on? (Which is lots of fun in dogfights
)? Or do you want to base your ship around a really nice engine - what use is shooting if you can't keep behind your opponent? Or maybe you choose to use lots of mass on a nice fat shield to take lots of fire and come out alive.
Its all up to you - which is great

I just have a little question, every tie interceptor ive seen has had a mass of roughly 50k give or take a few points, Im not sure if there is like cap or something because a while back on my trade forums i saw some smaller ships with a higher mass, like 90k, and i know they werent the price of it.
So does the interceptor have a mass cap? or how does mass on a ship work when making a chassis?

An average TIE Interceptor is 50k mass. If you use very very good resources, you can reach 51k mass. The ship you saw on the trade forums could have been a Royal Guard TIE Interceptor, it has 80k mass, or a TIE Fighter Heavy Variant, it has around 95k mass.
