Thread: Imperial tier 2 mission 3 Destroy the Kimogilas Claw

This mission seems like a problem considering the Kimogilas Claw is a tier 2 YT-1300 that kills me in about 3-4 shots. If I take my time to kill its escorts then try sneak up on it, it jumps out of the system and the mission fails.
Does anyone have any tactics or suggestions that could help in this situation?

I failed it and cant get the mission back. none of the NPCs talk top me, including the commander in bestine. I have no mission in my datapad, or a wp to the yt. dead in the water now

I just finished this guy and found out my mistake from the first few fights. Normally you take escorts out then the main ship. In this case you have to take the Claw out first, her guns are more dangerous than the X-wings and her pilot is better. I also tried targetting the reactor so she couldn't make a run for it but when the shields and armor dropped she went down fast.
Basically I went full speed head on to the Claw, that lowered her shields and armor to half. I tried using my boosters to get far enough away to try another run but they were disabled in the run (got mauled a bit), so I did an in-system hyperjump to get away. After a quick stop at the station for repairs (well, didn't really stop) I went back for the second run which dropped the shields and armor, then stayed on her tail till dead. I did another in-system jump to be safe but didn't really need to, the escorts aren't bad when alone.
So really the main problem are the Claw's guns, so take her out before looking at anything else. Oh, also keep in mind you MUST kill the escorts as well for the flag.

Fly behind the Kimigola's claw engines (the blue beam thing) and just shoot it from there, where its guns wont hit you. Simple

Yeah, this mission is pretty tough....of course having -5000 Nym faction made it a royal pain in the a$$.....

Same boat Will have to give this a go that way. As for my sudgestion go around Nyms to his lair. thers 2 guards that will agro. then talk to the spy. If you have to return just talk to the spy you dont have to talk to the other NPC.

Easiest way to do this mission is to have a friend lure the fire from the KimoClaw while you nail it from behind. Otherwise you die pretty quickly, because the weapons on it are pretty strong.

I tried this mission and failed several times. I then ask my buddy how he finished it. He said to target the guns. Target weapon "0" after it is disabled your target will then switch over to weapon "1". I tried this and it was a piece of cake. I then disabled the ship and went after the escorts. I did do a fly by and got on it's tail to take down the weapons. It also helps to have a good shield generator and armor. You should also have a weapon that is pretty good. Mine is 900-1200 damage with a .6 on shields and armor. Hope this helps.

I was able to solo this. The turrets hurt, but I had 925 strength shields fore and aft and a 1600-2150 damage blaster in place (built my In around a 14500 mass gun). Lit into it and didn't let up until it blew.
Now I'm at my final Tier 3 mission.
Now I'm at my final Tier 3 mission.

And your all doing this while flying a Tie fighter ?
they should do something about that mission, been at it for
weeks now.

I got it on my second try. What i did was a full throttle charge, blasted the annoying turrets off first, then i worried about the escorts. But believe me, my tie was pretty beaten up when i was done. if u fail just talk to the spy, hes on the furthest room to the right if ur looking at nyms stage.
