I may be totally wrong about this idea... Dunno how marketing and actual play would be involved...
But I believe all SWG players should have access to JTL content...
Now I have JTL and I love flying around, I also wouldn't want to be cheated out of the cash I paid for JTL. However, I think it would be fun for MP ships to have a bit more use.
So why not make JTL public, however actual piloting ships, owning ships and shipwright abilities can be acquired by purchasing JTL.
Basically people who do not have JTL can go into space but only by hitching a ride with somebody who has purchased JTL.
The possibilities are endless. People who like to fly MP ships can hitch rides to other planets on other people's ships. Pilots can actually charge for these trips.
Make it so if you are carrying passengers you can't "travel" but you actually have to launch into space and fly to the planet destination.
Then you can add an additional delay to the space port ships let's say 30 mins or something so people actually want to charter ships to other planets.
Additionally it would be a lot easier to find gunners for the MP ships, since everybody wants to fly their own at times.

Good idea, give the non-JtL crowd some enticement by allowing them a glimpse. But that thirty minute thing for the starports...bleeechh. People bitched up and down about a TEN minute wait. I do think that the current one-minute thing is a bit too much though.

I don't know about the 30 minute thing... But I love the idea of makeing MP ships accessable to players that do not have JTL, what the heck even let them use the turrets (anyone can shoot a gun right?) But like you said Rishathra, just do not let them own or pilot them
I can tell you FOR SURE I would have purchased JTL a long time ago if someone had taken me up so that I could take a look around...From an advertisment standpoint I really do not understand why they did not do it this way to begin with, then again I don't have an advertiseing degree or a programing one so maybe its a code issue as well. I know that I finaly did buy it because I was tired of waiting for shuttles and was jelious of people that could go from one side of the galaxy to the other...Had they lowered the shuttle times a couple of weeks ago I never would have purchased JTL, now that they are 60seconds and given the fact that each box on tier 4 is 1 million xp, I really don't see the need to have it for my other three alts...When I finish grinding freelancer I really do not think I will have the desire to grind 4 million pilot xp again which is kinda disapointing because I had wanted at least one of my alts to be a rebel pilot
