1. Your prestige points (like all your other piloting points) are reset to 0. On an intresting note, as a imperial ace pilot i still have "rebel pilot prestige +0" in my skills window
2. Yes. You get the Master pilot bonus (on top of your normal xp). So mastering your next profession wont be such a grind. Bonus is number of factions mastered * the mobs xp. So if you kill a 3000 exp mob, your bonus will be 1 * 3000 = 3000. This is in addition to the orginal 3000 exp mob. So you'll get a grand total of 6000 xp.
If you were to master rebel and go imperial then said bonus would have a X2 modifer instead of X1. So a 3K xp mob is acutally worth 9000 XP if your a "double ace". Multipler does not count to mastering the same faction twice in a different squadron. Only factions masterd counts. so the modifer ranges from 1 to 3.

WHile the B wing may have the most firepower, it also has the worst handling
It's a love it or hate it type of ship, id read all the B wing threads if this ship is your motivation. As a rebel pilot i didnt use mine a whole lot. I opted for the Xwing/A wing more.

Do you loose the ability to fly previously flyable craft? Like if I finish mastering Freelancer so I can have my YT-1300, if I decide to go Reb will I then loose the ability to pilot that?
Had no idea about the bonus though...great stuff to know!!

If you want to fly a specific craft, you're going to need to be able to have that profession -- so if you dump rebel for privateer, you lose the certs for the other ships.

What he said.
TO put it another way, i have 2 bags in my storage house. One's labled "Rebel ships" the other is labled "privateer ships". Both bags contain a full compliment of ship deeds. NONE OF WHICH i can use anymore
