I am currently a Rebel Pilot and would like to join one of the squadrons. Can anyone tell me the starting locations for the Rebel Squads? Thanks.

How can you see which squadron you're in, and can you change them later?

There are three Rebel Squadrons. Unless the information has changed. I am aware of these.

Squadron Planet

  1. Havoc: Coreilla - Tyrena

  2. Crimson Phoenix Tatooine - Mos Eisley

  3. Vortex Naboo - Moenia

I am currently flying in Vortex, which I have been hearing is the hardest squadron compared to the other two. (Wish i knew that when i signed up- lol.) Crimson Phoenix is supposed to be the easier one i think. The starting trainer / coordinators are in the towns listed. You can do a search under /find and then select trainer until you get the Rebel Trainer, who will be next to the coordinator.

I think you can also do missions for other coordinators- not sure how it works at the end though- if you can change squadrons from the one that you enrolled in. So would like clarification if any, from an enlightened soul. Would like to end up with title "Crimson Phoenix" squadron or Havoc, rather than Vortex. Hope we can still choose at end.

Hmmmm, not sure if the squadron name is visible before you get the Master title. I think you are stuck with the squadron where you first enrolled unless maybe one does more missions for another squadron?

Will have to try it out. Im doing Rebel and Freelancer with my two characters. Last night I started one tier mission- i think the duty missions at another trainer from another squadron line- and he referred to me being not his regular pilot or something - but still gave me a mission. I couldnt get training from him though although i had maxed out the xp for that tier. I later got training from my regular trainer, in the squadron. If you check the stickyin the pilotthread at:-

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=pilot&message.id=58

there is a guide to missions that basically gives the line oftrainers in each squadron under "pilot progression".Trytodo only missions from another line and see if it lets you completeyour trainingand continue with them.

The more detailed info on squadrons are:-

There are 3 choices for Pilot factions and each faction has 3 different Squadrons you can join:

  1. Rebel: Recruiter Location: J'pai Brek (-5072, -2343) Tyrena, Corellia
----- Akron's Havok Squad: Captain Kreezo, Tyrena, Corellia (-5177, -2281)
----- Vortex Squadron: V3-FX {droid} (right across the bridge) Moenia, Naboo
----- Crimson Phoenix Squadron: Commander Da'la Socuna (back room of the cantina) Mos Espa Tatooine

  2. Imperial: Recruiter Location: Commander Landau (-5516,4403) Theed, Naboo
----- Inquisition: Lt. Barn Sinkko, Kadaara, Naboo (location please)
----- Storm Squadron: Lt. Akal Colzet, Bestine, Tatooine (location please)
----- Black Epsilon: Hakasha Sireen, Imp Outpost, Talus (location please)

  3. Freelancer: Recruiter Location: Gil Burtin (-1174, -3647) Bestine, Tatooine
----- Smuggler Alliance: Dravis, Mos Eisley, Tatooine, Back room of cantina (3429,-4788) REBEL aligned
----- RSF Squadron: Captain Dinge, Theed Naboo (-5497,4575)
    IMPERIAL aligned
----- Corsec Squadron: Sergeant Rhea, Coronet Corellia (-275,4730) Neutral

Above is from the FAQ sticky at Pilot forums at:-

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=pilot&message.id=45277

From what i understand is that there are duty missions that just give you XP and there are the story missions that are given. Assume you can do duty missions from anyone and story missions are squadron specific?

Hope this long post has not made you more confused. I will read through forums and play both characters to see if one can change.

Good luck.

On Changing Squadrons!

Was determined to find out what I guess we always knew [change squadrons? and keep xp?-{key in : Muhaa haaaaaaaa!! laughter is heard by evil devs}.]

So spent 4 hours trolling forums for all sorts of things about pilot and shipwright- which my two characters are doing. And answer is - Nada. Zip. No!

My first secondary source is below post:-

[Sorry i'm not clicky savy to make one in this format].

Thanks for the FAQ. Great post. Had one question, is it possible to change squadrons within a faction without dropping all the skills already earned in my starting squadron. I started in the squadron on correlia and I want to go to the crimson phoenix squadron.

Nope. You can either finish it and then go up the new one or start from scratch now (if you're almost there you might as well finish it as you get a nice little xp bonus when you're a previous master).

I guess scripting problemsprevent us fromchangingsquadrons whilst one is in the midst of completing it.

So I am stuck with the Vortex moniker when I get master!Augh!!!!! By the way- this may be aa nOObquestion- as i can't really recall when i've met Master Pilots

Where does the squadron name actually appear?

Is it just for us? Does it appear under us when examined as a badge achievment? Or does it appear under title?

I saw an Ace yesterday, he didn't have the squadron under his name (just "Rebel Ace Pilot" or some such.)

The Badge you receive for completing the profesion lists which Squadron you Mastered/Aced. Other than that, we just sort of expect you to know which planet you started on, and work from there. Also, the trainers do have a tendency to spit out the name of the Squadron you are flying for during conversations.... but I guess you have to read those to see that.

Naboo,Moenia

right outside the starport, a gazeebo not too far from view has a silver 3PO driod who will inlist you into the Vortex Squadron: Rebel Pilots who believe in the Force!

though this squadron is tough, it's definitly cool to be trained by force-believing rebel pilots GOOSEBUMPS!
