Yeah, that thing is incredibly cool. I'd trade in my SoroSuub for that beauty any day.

Yeah. It's like, first impression: Cool, but... it's ugly...
Second impression: Sweet! It's sorta cool lookin... but still ugly.
Third impression: Man, this thing is so ugly it's awesome!
Best of all though, remember those numerous petitions for mp ships to have even one forward fixed laser? You got one.
Remember those petitions for player capital ships? You got one. (I mean, look at it! It's like 15 stories tall! If that isn't a capital ship, what the heck is it?)
I was hoping we'd get some real cap ships in RotW. Looks like we did.
My only gripe (well, two gripes) is the decreased group limit, and the fact that it has a mere two turrets. If it had more, we could use these things as command ships in space battles (which we have a lot of on Starsider).
If it had 4 turrets, this thing would be the best thing to hit the game since... well... anything really. And it may even bethe best thing even without the extra turrets.

The Y-18 is what's for awesome. I will be hitting this thing up first thing when I get the expansion! w00t and a half! And yes, ugly is the new black

I didnt't see it in the write up so I will ask. Anyone know the requirements to use it? I meanis it a Master ship or something lower?SInce I am sure it is a Beast to turn and fly. Most likely makes the current Multi-crews look like A-wings in that regard...
... ALso when it says the mining lasers and Tractor go into Weapon slots. DOes them mean Beam weapon slots or ANY slot?

That's the interesting part for me. It appears any ship can be outfitted for mining. That's a quandry. Do I get myself a Y-8, or do I equip a mining laser and tractor beam on my Nova? Wait, wouldn't that take up both turrets, making the Nova useless for defending itself against pirates? I can see how useful a mining equipped Nova could be though with a full crew and a fighter escort. One gunner blasts the asteroids while the other tractor's them into the cargo hold. Interesting stuff, I can't wait.

I'm in love. Can't wait to get my hands on a Y-8. But it sounds like it's going to be a quest reward or some such; anyone have details on this? I must have this ship....
