So I'm flying my freebie TIE right now. How do I get the better ships? Am I correct in thinking that I buy a chassis blueprint from a shipwright...take that to the Chasis dealer and they just put it together for me? Then I buy and add guns, engine, generator, shields..etc?

Yep, they does. I forget the prices for the ships I've gotten made though.

Why didn't they made an actual Manual that explained all these things? There is so many commands not even listed it makes you sick to think this has the Lucasarts logo on it.... Only thing sloppier is their dedication to giving us Star Wars in a Star Wars game... pathetic...

Games like SWG are constantly changing so any manual would pretty much be outdated by the time it was printed.
The one that came with Jtls gave enough general information to get started.
Any one needed more information aboutt flyingshould go to the pilot or shipwrights forums and read the stickied threads posted at the top.
In fact most questions asked in the professions forums can be answered by reading those threads first.
Wealso have the in game Holocron to help, which is SOE's effort to helpus out.
Another reason most game companies don't give out too much information is they want the player to experience "The Thrill of Discovery"

Does the Chasis dealer charge anything?
The prices vary from chasis to chasis depending on the ships mass I think.
All I know for sure is the higher tier the ship the more the chasis dealer will charge you.
Check the top of the shipwrights forum or the pilots forum for the exact amounts if you wish.
