NOBODY expects the Talus Inquisition! Our chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise.... Our two weapons are fear and surprise...and ruthless efficiency.... Our *three* weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency...and an almost fanatical devotion to the Ninjamicros.... Our *four*...no... *Amongst* our weapons.... Amongst our weaponry...are such elements as fear, surprise.... I'll come in again.

Don't even worry abaout this ship....just use it to get to you next tier and upgrade immediately to the Y-Wing. The higher mass will allow for a much superior ship

Ah but the Headhunters Pitch value is around 600 - along with the other starter ships they are the most manuverable ships there are. If you can get the right equipment a Z95 is superior to the Y-wing for straight-forward dogfighting until you get your hands on an X-wing.

Not only that, but using a Z95 gives a new player a crash course in mass-monitering, something that only Imperials and avid A-wing fanatics like myself really seem to be good at .

Crixx, Xicrx and Crixxorian Darkmoon - Rebellion, Corsec and Imperial Ace Pilots respectively.
"When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return."
"If your pvp battles in space only last a few seconds YOU need practice. The game isn't broken, you just suck!" - Thik
"There's no sensation quite like learning to fly. Tounge-tied and twisted, just an earth-bound misfit, I." -Pink Floyd
"One/two shot PvP is good because this is a game of EVASION. NOT ABSORBTION" - Big mean heartbreaker.
"Sod implementing anything half-decent, we have SWG to make! OLOL!"
"We already have expertise in space. It's called a brain." - Leaph.

The highlighted section is what proves my point. At the lower tiers you don't really get access to any good equipment....therefore you are better off steamrolling through as fast as possible to get certified for better equipment (and better ships). You are better off with a big, hard hitting ship that can take a punch or two than a beginner fighter that gets knocked out with one hit. Once you get access to higher tier parts then you can think about outfiting a Headhunter with nice equipment.

I don't know about you.....but when I learned to fly I got hit quite a bit in the beginning and less once I became more familiar with flying...

I disagree Ken. I flew my Z95 all the way through till I got my xwing. You don't have to have an Ywing to get to the later levels. Some people may like the Ywing and being able to load taht thing down with level 2-3 or 4-5 components. I felt that unless you had super uber components (like 92 speed engine with rates of 60+ and 1800 shields with awesome armor for front and back) then the trade off is not worth losing all that manuverability. Just because you can take punishment doesn't mean you're going to beat the missions. I flew just fine with my Z95. I still have it and fly it every now and then because I like it. Its probably one of the closest ships that still stick to the SW universe. But all that aside saying that you should just get the Y so you can get to the X faster is not true. It all comes down to personal preference. And mine was being able to out fly the enemies instead of being a flying Concrete block.

I've looked around on the forums but can't find an answer to this. I had heard that recently, all new players would be able to upgrade their starter ship. Well, I got JTL about a month ago and got my headhunter. Now I hear the news that it should be upgradable, I try to do so, and I can't upgrade it, can't redeed it, or anything at all.

Did the Devs decide that anyone who had a starter ship before they made their decision was simply out of luck, or am I missing something here?

Try deleting it, then speaking to the trainer again to recieve the new, upgraded one.
