Last night I went up to the vette with a group of folks. We got our posteriors handed to us by the NPC storm troopers up there. Man they are tough! That was to be expected and I don't have a problem with that. What I do have a problem with is that after killing us two NPC stormtroopers spawn camped the cloning center and basically griefed the whole party by killing people as they spawned. Now if these were PCs this would be called griefing, and would be against the rules. So why is it ok for NPCs to do it?

because npcs dont have to accept a terms of use agreement to play

It's not griefing because AI can't grief. AI can only do what it's been programmed to do. In this case, it was programmed to attack players.

There's a reason why there are no NPCs near the starting location. If someone in your party leads NPCs there, therebye defeating that reason, that's his fault.

Oh, and just so I can be like everyone else who's going to respond to this....

The Vette in SPACE that you can get in a ship and fly around it... yes.

The Vette that you can access without buying Jump to Lightspeed (hence forum discussion), no.
