I found this article on a MMORPG site which I know they have chatted with Dev's before but I would like to know if SOE or any of the Devs here plan on letting us know when we get our 75,000 creds. Ahhh the bait they use to get people to play the game..
Starter Ships Improved!
Date: Dec 10, 2004 Author: Craig McGregor
Space Exploration Expands the Economy of Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed(TM)
The launch of Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed has created new avenues of fun for pilots and produced an economic boon to the game's shipwright professionals.
Master Shipwrights are reporting huge sales for quality iconic ships. "Your average X-wing sells for about 220,000 credits on the open market in game, while ships crafted by highly skilled shipwrights can command even more. Business is very brisk!" says Ackoman, a Master Shipwright on the Ahazi server.
Recognizing that amassing over 200,000 credits for a brand new player can be a daunting task, the games developers have significantly improved the starter ships for all three novice piloting professions. Starting craft are now upgradeable with better components and come standard with a hyperdrive for faster adventuring throughout space.
And both brand new and active players with Jump to Lightspeed will receive a 75,000 credit bonus automatically added to their accounts to aid in the purchase of high level ship components.
For those interested in creating their own saga in the Star Wars universe (including the entire Jump to Lightspeed experience), starting December 17, 2004, FilePlanet.com will host a 10 day free trial.

Personally I could care less. 75k is a scratch to me, I spend that a day in tips. If I got it, I would never even notice it in my account.

If they did that it would just make prices increase, is £1000,000 worth so much if everyone has it? Thought not

Hmm, what about the 10 day trial? Ive not seen any mention of that on Fileplanet, these free trial keys are great for RP, means you can have disposable characters to play out roles that WILL lead to death.

I wonder how the arrived at 75k?
Well most players won't even notice the increase unless they also get an email when it happens.

I know I won't. I don't even pay attention to those numbers down there anymore.

Same here, and since no Dev backed this story up I highly doubt that it happened or will ever happen.

I shop around and more people should as that would cause a rapid decrease in prices.
For example I have 2 high end A-wings, I see them selling for 400K and up. Did I pay that much. Hell No. I shopped around and bought 2 for 40K each. I have never found anything anywhere that I couldn't get for cheaper if I toiok the time to look. For building my ships I would guess that I have probably saved around 4 or 5 million credits AT LEAST just by shopping around. The big name merchants just like big name stores charge more for the name, which in this game is meaningless. I look at stats and the price I write down the stats and then start shopping. If you find a vendor thats not on the planetary map then right there you will find stuff cheaper but a lot but thats hard to fiond as its just sheer luck.

Have to agree, don't know that I'd notice 75k dropping in my account after about week three of the game.

200k is a daunting task for a new player with JTL?
Compleat BS.
At Tier 2, Smuggler Privateer, a standard "kill" duty mission will result, when compleated sucessfully, in aproximatly 100k in credits from waves, credit chips and loot.
And I was doing this in a Dunelizard I bought from the nearest shipwright vendor for 40k (obtained again, by selling loot drops to the chassis vendor), fitted with only looted components.

75k...Lol, it takes all of 10 minutes in space to make 75k. Although to new players on the ground that could be a huge help. In space your hard pressed to not be rich.
