For we the people who love the lightweight chassis, make sure you dont get fixated on folowing a single target till you pop it, especially in a straight line. Now of course if your only fighting 1 target then well disregard. If however you are fighting multiple bogies getting locked into just following one will get your precious rear shields screaming at you.

Lol yes I noticed this too. I watched someone else fight a group of spawns that weren't aggroing me. When they stayed on one target, the others would group up behind him and follow him through every turn and maneuver. I put a shot into the 4 ships behind him and they all dispersed like cockroaches when you turn on the light.

I also saw someone that came to a complete stop to finish off a disabled ship. lol, the ship that was after him was also stopped and trying to finish HIM off, till I popped a shot into him and he started moving again.

If something is tagging you while you are on a target, hit R, slow to half speed and go after it right away and you'll live much much longer. the original poster here knows what he is talking about.

So I finally have a stalker? Woot! Is that who's been picking up all these bread crumbs I've been leaving?

Be careful I could end up liking you. THEN you're in trouble.

Gotta love 1 star bandits. I wasnt complaining about the Ai. I was commenting on what not to do in any furrball, especially in a small ship. Mobility is your best defense and if your locked into the rear of a ship your presenting a good target.

Yup you gotta learn the fine art of shaking a tail while making the most of the tail you are on.

My addition is to watch the FLASHING red dots on your radar, these are the guys who are on your six. Often its better to switch targets and go after one of them than following one in.

And I swear, every now and then some of the NPC ships actually try to decoy you into following them. I spent some time wading through a cloud of headhunters, and invariably I find ONE that wont die (aka I simply cannot do any decent damage to). While I am trying to chase him down, the swarm congregates on my six, and bad things start to happen.

I love the new Ai, they duck and weave and do radical direction changes. What i do is look not for flashing dots but dots that look as large as the one in the center. I re-orient and blast, then re-oreient.

Yeah but once you switch off to go after the new attacker the one you were originally chasing gets on your tail and start blasting. Right now I just get out of there if I start taking too much shots from multiple ships.

Yah, when i start to hear too many shield hits i really scramble. Do you guys favor adjusted front shields or rear? I am thinking now that im flying my A-wing and the new Ai Front adjustments arent as needed as before when there was jousting.

The real trick is to learn how to slide, roll, jink, juke, and do all those nice little tricks, while keeping on your targets 6, and of coruse hitting your target.
