Prior to the last patch (11.3), I used epulse 3 frequently in combat. It was a powerful way of dispatching ships up to tier 5, and sometimes if they were close enough, multiple ships. The down side and risk was the fact that it depleted my capacitor and dropped my shields, leaving me completely vulnerable. Also, like all other pilot specials, it hasa long recharge time.
Today I used it point blank against a tier 5 ship and succeeded in only dropping its shields by about 15%. I tried this a second time and got about 17% shield damage and maybe 6% armor damage on it.
All of my ships equipment is the same, and all equipment is at 100% ( of course repairs were needed after the first attempt where I was left helpless with a not-so-happy barely damaged adversary )
Has anyone else noticed this? And for those who haven't tried this yet, beware!
Thanks,
Wokka

Oh man I hope it got nerfed, but not in the way you explained. SOE just needs to make it not able to grief other players, but not make it weak either. It seems their solutions aren't very well thought out.
I mean, if a car had a flat tire, their solution would be to flatten the other 3 tires and change the road to accomodate flat tires running on it.
Or if the light bulb burned out in the fridge, they would create a brand new light which was very cool which would attach to your forehead and sense when the refrigerator is opened and turn itself on, play music, and emit the scent of fresh cinnamon buns. And we would think that it would be better to just replace the burned out bulb... but we'd be wrong no doubt, cause hey everyone likes cinnamon buns.

It did get nerfed. It does much less damage, barely more than epulse2, and it still hurts other players.
Wrong, wrong, wrong way to do it, SOE.

Actually - I'm not sure about that. Had some Imp's camping the hyper point in Kessel last night - so we paid a Master Smuggler to dispatch them. Needless to say they stopped camping the spawn point from then on.

It may be that the capacitor being used is of a lower rating. The more juice in the cap, the bigger the bang
I suppose it's feasible that they stealth nerfed it though, I saw it being used several times to grief players.

Still works well, I succesfully took out an Overt Nova with it...then again, I did jump it with a ConIII missile and a volley of Ion Cannon first

Just not as well as before. Before, I annihilated 6 Tier 5 ships, and significant damage to 2 other gunships with one blast, before the second and third wave of my squadron took out the rest.
I can't seem to do that anymore.
