As an imperial pilot, I've been having a little trouble finding Reactor Overload 3 (mostly because I was spending my time hanging on to the tails of A-wings instead of trying to find it
), so I have been relying on the Reactor Overload 2 that I had. With RO2 I had to stay at Engine and Weapons Overload 2, as the 3's would put too much strain on my rather poor reactor. As a matter of fact, using WO 2 would disable my missile launcher, but I was content in switching between WO1 and WO2 depending on the tactical circumstances.
This morning I took the time to get Reactor Overload 3 and made myself a new Astromech. Much to my surprise, I can now run both Engine and Weapons Overload 3 without a problem. With the exact same equipment. The only conclusion I can draw from this is, that the added penalty in reactor drain from the WO and EO 3 are less than the added bonus in reactor output generated from RO3. Now, I know that some impressively dedicated researchers play this game, so I wondered if anyone took the time to make a decent study of the actual consequences of the droid programs?
I am pretty sure that weapons overload (to take an example) is:
+% to MaxDamage
+% to MinDamage
+% to Power Consumption
+% to Energy pr. Shot
But how much +%? How much for level 2 programs compared to level 3. Or 4? Anyone has an idea of that?
As a side note, changing to the new improved Astromech seemed as if Energy per Shot was lower (using WO3) compared to before (using WO2). But that must be my mind playing tricks on me because I suffer more G force from flying so fast with EO3

Having played some more last night, I am now certain that my Energy pr. Shot has gone down considerably by changing from RO, EO, WO 2 to RO, EO, WO 3?!? In fact, I am now unable to deplete my 40 recharge/970 energy capacitor with two guns on continuous fire in the TIE advanced. I'm not complaining about this situation, mind you. But this doesn't seem right?

My little and quite unofficial observations on weapon overload 4. With weapon overload 3 my capacitor takes around 30 drain per shot. But with weapon overload 4 (note, reactor still had enough power to keep everything working) it took 300 power, a 1000% increase. Now one would assume a similar sort of increase with the damage. When fighting tier 5 ships, I noticed I was doing a mere double the damage.
So a magnitude greater capacitor drain for around 2X the damage?
I see why I call my level 4 astromechs box "Imperial Suicide Software".
Glad I looted a 20k reactor, I might actually be able to EO4 without sucked the ship dry of power.

I am pretty sure that Weapon Overload 3 is bugged. I tested WO3 alone today, and my two lasers combined actually uses less Energy per Shot with WO3 as the only running droid program, than without any programs running... That can't be right.

I think (but am not sure because I haven't played with RO at all) that RO increases your recharge rates by some margin as well... I could be completely off here, but that was my initial hunch.
