Thread: Need to SEE parts lvl on ships!

I'm with ya brother. I would be nice to know the level of the item currently on the ship without having to keep a list externally with a 3rd party sticky note and pen. Wow, isn't that how the cavemen did it?

It isn't about levels as such, if it blows your current lvl 10 blaster out of your ship and its level 3 then buy it but, yes being able to get all stats on your ship from the datapad would help A LOT! If Qui Gon Chin or whatever his name is, can decide Anakin is stong with the force from a datapad I want to be bloody sure I can know what my ship components are at all times!
It makes sense. (in other words it will never happen).
In a sense, it IS about levels. Let's say I'm runninga Lvl 8 engine in my ship that I haven't had the opportunity to get RE'd yet because I need MORE lvl 8 engines. I'm at a component loot vendor and spot an engine that fits nicely, but I can't remember atm which level the installed engine is. I can't tell from opening my datapad, so I'm forced to go back to the Starport, unload the item, and examine it. We need the ability to view the component level through the Datapad without having to unload the item.

i've been troubled by this a few times. yus, it is frustrating. but all the craft i kill drop the tier lvl loot i need anyways
tier doesnt matter as much as stats
biwan: (unless you dont qualify)
its not likely you will kill any ships out of your league. i dont kill tier 5 interceptors in my y-wing, but i do kill tier 2 and 3 and sometimes the ocasional 4, thus looting the apropriate lvl loot

I would also like to add that you cant see the level on the baz when buying them either. That would really help or a colum to show what level they are so I dont waste my time looking at at level 1 garbage at ace level...
I understand. Although you can see the level when you open it up, it would be better if we had a filter of some sort so we can see the listing of items' levels.
Unfortunately I see a snag with this from the development side. The ship parts are the only thing in the game that actually have levels, and the bazaar listing was made for ALL items. The item listing would have to look at each item and if it had a level to it, then it would put that number in the "level" column. And those items that didn't have levels, it would be blank in that column.
An alternative would be to change the tree that does the filtering now. Open ship components, then open engines, and under that have a branch that has component level to filter it all the way down and only show engines of, say level 8. That's a lot of tree to display should you open them all up. I wonder how hard that would affect their already troubled database.
One of the oldest wish-lists for the bazaar would be to add a word filter and search function. I would think it would be simple to put in a space where you type in "powerup" and it shows you all items with the word powerup in its name description or individual player typed description. But I see that being abused just as web pages are abused right now. People would put every word they think of in their descriptions in order for their item to come up more often. Again, an extreme burden on any database that is crippled already.
I hope I didn't hijack this thread too badly, but cry4dawn had a very good suggestion for items' levels on the bazaar.
