Number uno: I have less then the min requirements for the normal game on the ground and except for some cities it runs just fine. Is it crowded and would I lag out n crump?
Number tres: Is it fun? In the case that I could maybe run it alright would you reccomend it?

For a second there, I thought someone was going to ask if this game could be run in DOS...
Gah, I'm old.

Heh. I know what you mean. Sadly, I think we'd all be happier if it could. THink about how much overhead Windows puts on our systems. Think about how the Xbox can have better looking games, yet run on slower hardware than what is required for this game. Not to mention that most of us likely have higher-end video cards at this point.

My wife is currently running Windows 98 First Edition with 256M RAM on a P3 750. She has an NVidia TNT2 400MMX with 64M video RAM. She is able to play the game, though every now and then she might lag and I have to explain that she is shooting at empty space because her target has already exploded. Of course, with me sitting right beside her, it's easy to explain that it's dead, and she moves on, but I'd hate to see that situation if I wasn't logged in to tell her verbally when her text doesn't catch up for a couple minutes sometimes. There is also a case of her being booted back to the character select screen when landing sometimes, though fortunately it's very rare. The game is playable if you can accept these potential complications and understand that one of them occuring at the wrong time could lead to a very unpleasant surprise (Though she's never been killed after being kicked to select screen, and in her ship usually vanishes fairly quickly when she loses her connection.)
As for numeros tres: Asking if something is fun is like asking if something tastes good.. it's a difficult question that will only get biased answers. A lot of people, myself included, find it to be very fun, though slightly flawed. The flaws are acceptable, for the most part, because this part of the game is still evolving. But something I consider to be fun you might consider to be mindless tedium. So it's hard to say "yes" or "no" to that question. However, with the disclaimer that this is biased, and you DID ask if it would be recommended, I'd say yes.
