Do the Black Sun aces only spawn for missions? Or is there a place I can find them floating around? I've found tons of fighters and bombers around corellia but no aces.
Anyone have a location?

I have seen a teir 5 black sun hot spot some place out in dant space. Sorry but I don't remember where exactly it was.

they drop from non-aces, anything thats a high tier can drop them I think (if its blacksun)

Added Black Sun Ace Fighter Helmet to the game. It can be worn by all species except Ithorians and Wookiees. Black Sun Ace Pilots may take some 'convincing' before they relinquish their helmets, so to speak. We recommend shooting them until they explode
Sounds like to me only the Aces drop them. But, I digress, as it remains to be seen.

From Patch notes:
"Added Black Sun Ace Fighter Helmet to the game. It can be worn by all species except Ithorians and Wookiees. Black Sun Ace Pilots may take some 'convincing' before they relinquish their helmets, so to speak. We recommend shooting them until they explode"
I figured this meant it was only ace pilots. Has anyone gotten it off anything else?

The only one in existance(sp) was looted off a normal black sun tier4

I certainly hope that was a bug. Certainly don't want a million of these things ingame.

NoI dont think so, millions ingame? lol, black sun ace's are like tier 1/2 - they'd be ALOT more if it dropped from tier 1/2 and not 4/5.. I killed about 50 so far (4/5) and no helm's, so I very much millions will be ingame, for a very long time, unless someone dupes them.
a few will be looted today on every server proberly, as many people are hunting them.

They spawn randomly m8, you have to get out there and look around for them I'm afraid.
I've seen Tier 4 (but no Aces) at the Red Sin hyper point and Tier 5 Aces in Kessel.
Hope you have more luck than the rest of us have :-)
