I'm 3332 Pilot and was sent by Vorex Squadon to Dath system to escort an experimental TIE. After disabling the TIE and got a droid sent in to pilot it, I kept on slaughtering waves and waves of incoming TIEs for over 30mins till a message poped up saying that I spent too much time on the mission and it was failed...
Now I wish to know if it was a bug or if I have done anything wrong. Any comment is welcomed. Thanks!

It's been a while, but if I remember some missions are timed. If you are on Bria give me a yell. IGN Obidon

Thx for the reply but my real question is whether the mission intended as such? I have almost killed 90 TIEs in one single escort mission and it seems a bit strange.
BTW, I am on bria
will send u a tell for advice soon /salute

I have tried this mission again and it now works. Soon after I disabled the experimental TIE and killed three Tier 3 TIES next to it, a new wp spawned and asked me to pick up a pilot and escort him to another wp. I did and get the mission finished.
However, I dunno if it is intended or not, when I was sent to dock with a shuttle to pick up a pilot for the experimental TIE, there were waves after waves of TIEs coming in. Instead of trying to clear all incomings before /dock, I disabled a few of them (with the "[" command to targettheir reactors) and /dock. I barely made it as another wave of TIEs came in and kept on firing at me while I am docking with the shuttle.

Yeah, anytime you have to dock with a target while under fire, its best to disable rather than kill. Killing will spawn more waves. Good call, I had to learn that the hard way myself too.

There are a few missions out there where you have to dock under fire, so yes, that is intended and from the sounds of it you handled it the right way
