Thread: when is jtl going to be fun

i might be alone here, but i think flying is just.. slow. there's no sense of flying really, you cant chase fighters as they zig zag trying to get away, you can basically go 2mph and spin around shooting the ships as they fly circles around you.


has anyone ever played starwars battlefront? the cloud city platform level with all the ships. Those are real dogfights.


or battlefield 2 (demo) flying in jets chasing eachother.



or even xwing vs tie fighter!


i dont know what technically it is that is stopping this from happening but i hope someone can figure it out because im bored in space, all alone.. i'd do missions if they were any fun, id pvp if anyone ever was in space. JTL needs a revamp 0_0

Have you ever considered, *GASP* gettinga new, faster engine? Or perhaps, *GASP* getting higher in the tree till you're certed for a faster one?

Look me up maybe I can hook you up with something for your ride so that they don't fly circles around you. Heck I'm having trouble getting my Krayt NOT to over shoot past the fast ships. And this is at 80% throttle...

You're making pretty blanket statements, from your original post I assumed you were a low tier pilot as well.


You might seriously need to rethink your ship. Enemy fighters, even A-Wings, don't run away from me, I keep pace with them just fine, I usually have to throttle down. And I've flown in plenty of high speed furballs to not feel like the game is slow paced.


Maybe you should be the one to organize some PVP on your server?


I enjoy JTL, probably the only reason I still have my SWG subscription. I'm out flying nearly all the time.

Read the thread people.


He isn't saying that that is what they are doing to him and he can't keep up. He is simply saying that is all you have to do to beat them. And he is pretty accurate at the higher levels. There isn't much interaction or things to do once the quests are all over and you have the best stuff on your server for your ship(s).

Are you sure that's not what he's saying?


JTL is no different from other games/professions in SWG. You hit the top, and there isn't anything to do. My advice to pilots is usually to enjoy the trip up. Instead we have people racing to the top, complaining they don't like the missions, one guy even offered to pay me to level his pilot...so is it any surprise when they're bored at the top?

It is not slow, in fact its insanely fast.


It can be boring at times, for sure. But its not for lack of speed. Can you post what ship you fly, what engine you have, and what your top speed w/o overloads is?

That will help people help you.

He is fast but he also has heavy shields and heavy guns so all he has to do is stay in a spot and play turret to kill the enemies.


PvP is fun, but it's hard to find opponents. I'm currently spending most of my online time in deep space and kessel looking for opponents. I have a fight then send them a hiya tell. Every once in a while you'll find another PvP lover, addfriend and then /tell to meet up in deep space. Not perfect but decent way of getting more PvP.
