I suppose no one here knows, and they couldn't tell me if they did know, but I'll ask anyway.

Can Jedi be on the Privateer faction? Or are they limited to Rebel/Imperial?

you can be an imperial but be a privateer, or you can be a rebel but be a privateer as well. but you cannot be 2 pilot professions.

A Jedi should be able to be a Privateer. The only limitation is faction.

As previously pointed out, the options are:

Neutral: Privateer, Rebel Pilot, Imperial Pilot

Rebel: Privateer, Rebel Pilot

Imperial: Privateer, Imperial Pilot

The YT-1300 is only for Privateers, though pilot Rebs and Imps will get their own multiplayer ships. But the Falcon is neutral, unfortunately. So if you are rebel on the ground and want to fly a YT, you'll have to pick up the Privateer pilot prof, eliminating your opportunity to fly Rebel fighters such as X-wing, A-wing, Y-, B-, etc.

I made a new character just for this reason. I wanna fly all kinds of craft. My question is does anyone know how many ships we will be able to own? First I heard one only, then three. (I hope it's three.)

If so the wishlist for my Rebel is X-wing, an A-wing and a B-wing. Unless the Reb multi-player ship is cool, then I'll get that instead of B-wing.
For my Neut, who is a BH, a YT-1300, a light Hutt or Black Sun fighter, and a Firespray. Woot!
