1) Unless SOE officially releasesa date, then there is no official release date.

2) If a game store, game magazine, etc releases a date, then it is an educated guess, but still a guess.

3) It is even possible the date shown at the end of the trailer is not official. The trailers are made up weeks before they are first shown and the marketeers want to put dates out there and may have won that battle. The trailer gets a best guess date that is not official. Then again if it was not official, I would have expected a press release or comment by now.

From Starwars.com (http://starwars.com/gaming/videogames/news/news20041008.html), "On October 27th, players of Star Wars Galaxies, the massively multiplayer online game set in a galaxy far, far away, will have their chance to spread their wings and soar through the cosmos with Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed. This addition to the game launches players into the fast-paced dangerous world of space exploration, with over 20 spacecraft and over 100 missions."

So the release date for JTL is October 27th? You mean like 2 weeks away? Is this true? Or is this another case of Lucas' crew jumping the gun?

Anyone can release a game on any date that doesnt work. SWG was released with TONS of bugs and they still really havent ironed them out. Do you think this is going to be any different?

All of the gamesite also have a ship date of 10/26, so a live date of 10/27 makes sense. However, I have not seen anything from a LucasArts site, or an SOE site with a date. One would think that they would have a press release that JTL had gone to gold by now and disks should be printed and in trucks to stores soon.

I think 10/27 is still likely, but I am surprised there is no release date on the "official" JTL page on Lucas Arts.

When I stopped by Game Stop yesterday to pre-order, the clerk there told me I'd be able to pick it up at that time....

How long does it take to make up the CDs and ship? I'd imagine they are getting close....
