Perhaps it's a bit too early, what with people complaining over European release dates, and the bugs that need to be ironed out, but I thought I'd throw this out there: I'd like to be able to form squadrons with names/numbers that show up under your name in space.
This could work like the PA tag system, but independently. I don't think you should be limited to forming a squadron only with guildmates. I haven't thought through how the process of forming a squadron might work, I've just thought it would be wonderful to be able to form one and name it, for instance "Red Squadron". The leader/former of the squadron would receive the call sign "Red Leader", the others in the squadron would be assigned the call signs "Red Two", "Red Three", etc., as they joined. The label could appear below the character name/PA tag line.
Just a thought. Of course, I'll probably be cursing this idea when I see "Gank Five" or "l33t Seven" closing on me fast...

On the other hand, I suppose you could just name your ship with your squadron call sign...
Duh.

If a single squadron forms that doesn't scatter like a swarm of schizophrenic honeybees at the first sign of an engagement and actually practices tactical manuevering and cover tactics, I'll eat my hat.
