After calling local shops a dozen times, after visiting them a dozen times and not getting JTL i asked myself one very simple question:
Why is it not possible for SOE/Lucas Artsto sell us the game online (payment by same means as monthly fee) and just send us that key via email?
Now i'm angry, restless because i need to wait another day for that game. But why not make simple things more complicated? I guess it's fun letting potential customers waste their time and fuel/money.
PS: i don't care if anyone posted this already

I have to say I agree.
I should point out thought that one of my friends who got JTL already told me that there IS stuff you have to install off of the CD. Textures, artwork and such. Apparently the download we all received already just contains a few "default appearances" of these items.
That said, why not offer a digital download? With broadband as common as it is now, and the total lack of packaging, shipping, printed material, and media involved in a digital-download product it CANT cost more to pay for the bandwidth needed for the service.
I'd find it HUGELY more convenient, personally.

Apparently the reason for no digital download is because of the actual size of the download. To be honest thought isnt this what beta testers did anyway. Didnt take me long at all to download the beta.

Interesting point Jalthier, didn't know that. Still it can't be such a prob letting those who want it download one cd.

Hmmmm, I must have gotten bad info then. I'll have to beat him about the ears and shoulders later tonight for that!!!
At this point I'm just planning to wait until next week sometime to pick it up. It'll be at least another day or so before computer stores in my area will have it in stock. Rather than start playing on the weekend when it will be flooded with people doing their newbie missions I'll just wait and start next weekend.
Still irritating though.
