We have soon reached 2005, and alot of people across the globe have broadband access to the internet.
A few developers have got the point, like Valve with their Steam service (downloading HL2, CS Source and all the other Vavle titles to the pc).
Why must I go down to the town and buy a physical stupid big box in order to get a key for a game (read: expansion), that is already installed on my computer ?? And even if it wasn't installed, I sure wouldn't mind downloading 2 gigabytes if I had to. Atleast let us who have the ability to download whatever size files, do it !
If Lucasarts / SOE / the men in black wanted money as bad as it seems, they would simply let us drop in on a webpage, enter our creditcard details and upgrade the account to include JTL. Much like Funcom are doing with all of the Anarchy Online expansions. If Lucasarts are fed up with SOE, I assume their lack of seeing business potential is a big part of that grudge (after all, we all know George Lucas likes hard cash).
So tell me fanboys, can I upgrade my account right now today or do I have to wait for my local retailer to obtain a dumb cardboard box ?

Seems to me we can buy the keys online (and according to player reports, the cd's are useless - and thank the maker for that).
No point in us Euro players waiting forever just because SOE haven't heard of online shops where you can instantly buy and download games / keys, yay !
Thereis another ongoing thread that discusses the matter ;
