I'm currently a rebel ace with my main--should I go neutral with my alt, or do rebels have superior ships?

Neutral has good ships, their tier 1 can carry you to master (it has more mas than the TIE advanced, our Imperial tier 4 fighter, and very good manueverability, along with 2 projectile hardpoints, just like the advanced).

If I were you I would go neutral, especially if youalready have a rebel pilot. The neutral faction has some interesting ships that are quite a bit different then the rebels but no less effective. Being neutral would also give you abroader range of things to do in space since you canfire on just about any ship. I would also recommend joining the corsec orsmuggler neutral factions as they are true neutrals. The RSF neutral faction on Naboo is aligned with the imperials therefore you are not permitted to fire on their ships.
I personallyhaveseveral JTL accounts so I can fly rebel, imperial, and neutral ships whenever I wantto. It is really nice to be ableto have a large selection of ships to choose from.

My vote is for privateer. The master ship alone is worth the effort.

In beta I did all faction's, and I can tell you all factions have pretty much the same ships, a few minor differences but nothing to note. So go with your feelings
but most of all have fun. I am rebel, and when (will be a long while at my pace) I make Jedi, and get an alt, I plan on doing Freelance with him/her/it.
