Thread: Flag Command Ship Idea. Plz look and Sign.

This is just an idea i have, taken from xwing alliance. Dont you think you should be able to land in capital ships like Star Destroyers, or Calamari Cruisers, and explore them and take missions from people within the ship? I think if would be fun and exciting, and add a could b sumthing good for JTL. It would also bring back an old star wars fighter SIM feel to the game as well.

/sign I love the idea. I do believe though that capital ships are planned in a future expantion.

There really needs to be such things, if for nothing else to allow pilots to congregate. Getting throught the spam at starports can be difficult if one is looking for a pilot group.

They should also function a little like multiplayer ships, so we can repair them & man turrets if they come under attack.

Oh, that gives me an idea! Though the space sectors would need to be enlarged. Basically, you have at least two capital ships in each sector, one for the rebs, one for the imps.These ships are constantly battling it out, but you really need to group up with other players and help destroy the other ship (basically the idea that the npc fighters launched from each ship will never be able to destroy the other ship on their own). If you manage to destroy the enemy command ship, the sector comes under control of your faction, twice the number of npcs from your faction spawn, and everyone in your faction who's declared gets an fp bonus for killing enemy npcs in the sector. If your faction's command ship gets destroyed, then you get an fp deduction for killing enemy ships in the sector, and the number of the other faction's npc spawns in the sector increases by a factor of 2. Make these cmmand ships rather hard to kill, so they're impossible to solo and even hard for a small group to take out. Make more space sectors orbiting other planets that aren't currently in the game and out in the middle of nowhere. And make the sectors that are those of playable planets have effects on the ground as well, say if the rebels destroy the imp command ship over Tatooine, then the rebels initiate a blockade of the Tatoo system and the number of imperial stormtroopers in the cities on Tatooine decrease (as it becomes harder for the imps to maintain a garrison). Then have rebel npcs spawn more frequently. And, eventually, the imps would send another ship to attempt to break the blockade and take back the sector. Also, if both of the faction ships are destroyed, the sector becomes neutral and basically like it is now.


This would be a really fun feature and would encourage players to continue playing in space after they master and also encourage large player grouping.

/sign I hope we can have guild owned cap ships or space stations. they would be destroyable like bases on the ground and give us something fresh to do in space occasionally

The only other question comes to mind... do we take space stations as far as having them be capable of being player cities?

And another problem with guild ships: Would they just sit around if noone is on to pilot them? Or would they disappear? And also, what if the number of people onboard is more than the number of crew cabins on the ship? Does the guild now have to invest in a larger ship, move everything out, and redecorate the entire thing to keep growing? Or does it just by upgrades to add more room?


And probably something the devs are asking: Could the database actually handle a bunch of these things flying around?

/sign it would also be pretty cool if u could man a gun turret or something on the ship and everyonce and a while another capitol ship or two will come out of space and start shootin at ya so then ur capitol ship begins to scramble fighters and u can get jobs to do from npc like bring these orders down to the communications deck and another capitol ship comes in to help u muahahhahahhaha im evil
