Thread: VT49 Decimator = Amazing

As a ship built to out-fight anything it can outrun, and outrun anything it can't outfight, the Empire uses the Decimator as a multi-role craft and will outfit it to suit the current need. Decimators make simple supply runs to listening outposts in dangerous areas like asteroid belts, perform long-range reconnaissance, serve as temporary listening posts themselves, or act as picket ships at the perimeter of an Imperial fleet. They are also called upon to use their weaponry to carve a path through enemy defenses and insert shock troops and raiding parties, or destroy their targets outright. A more recent duty that has fallen into favor sees Decimators being used more and more as long-duration medium patrol vessels. Also, being easier to hide than a frigate or Star Destroyer, Decimators have been used to set up ambushes in areas believed frequented by Rebel shipping; their cargo space being used to store food for the crew and ammunition ranging from missiles to torpedoes to mines.

This is exactly why I started playing SWG to begin with. This ship is going to be amazing and I cannot wait to setup for some ambushes on whomever I choose. Thank you SOE, truly amazing.

It truly is a great ship, very fun to pilot/gun from. MUCH better than the plain old nova.

I'm too lazy to find details, but someone had mentioned the crew whom developed the space-sim portion of JTLS was formerly-named as Origin... same developer whom did Wing Commander!

Way back when, I can remember piloting a Broadsword think'n "Gosh, I wish I could fly this thing AND use one of turrets"...

SO - does the Decimator have turrets!?? =)

Yes the decimator can have two turrets, however the pilot can't fire them, so he either has to have crew to fire them while he pilots... OR get out of his seat and fire them.

The Nova is ugly, but seems more like a civilian ship, which is a plus for roleplayers I guess.

The Decimator is absolutely awesome, the front observation room is quite something... You just need a big metal chair there, and you've got your own throne room. The cockpit is like a small capital ship bridge, with a big rooftop window. It's really a ship that more or less screams "IMPERIAL!!!" whereas the Nova whispers "Pst... Civilian ship, nothing to see here, move along...". I guess that's fitting for a rebel craft though!

Yeah, the windows in the "big room" in the Nova are too small. Would be better to haveone big window instead of the four small ones...
