Currently the AI only seems to fire when a hit is likely. So unlike the movies and any other starwars game the experience of flying in combat is not one of bolts flying every which way, since 99% of AI bolts hit their target.

I refer you to the various JTL splash screens, all of which show fighters deftly dodging between huge vollies of laser bolts.

It also feels, at least to me, like my rounds have a single ray-sized collider, while AI bolts have one about twice the size of my ship.

Please make the AI a little more trigger happy, so that when you've got Ties or Xwings on your tail you aren't guaranteed to hear <bolt><shields><bolt><shields><bolt shields><long pause><bolt shields><bolt><shields>. There should be stray rounds all over the place.

Also, can anyone tell me: does the rate of fire ever pick up? Or is JTL going tosound like xwing-vs-tie on prozacin perpetuity? (Instead of <pew><pew><pew><bzzzam><pew><pew><pew><pew><bzzzam>, the current experience seems to be <pew><bzzzam><take sip of soda><pick nose><pew><bzzzam><read playWook><pew><bzzzam><read eq2 patch notes><pew><bzzzam>

I agree. The tempo of combat is slow because there are very few stray bolts wizzing by. The amount of times that you are hit does not seem to be to much, but the miss bolts need to be seen flying by.

Right now, it seems like most shots hit you because there are not enough shots that are seen to have missed.

Oops - I didn't mean to imply that I'm being hit overly much - the pace of the battles is OK - what's missing is that starwars pray&spray feel. The JTL splashes/artwork etc all show this same thing, which just serves to make its absence the more noticeable

The actual rate of hits and such is fine, I just want the ai to fire lots more stray rounds =) (I fire PLENTY of strays myself
