Thread: Why are my lasers invisible?

i hear myself firing and i see damage ticking off on my targets. but i only see an actual laser come from my scyk every so often. what is going on here. it seems like all the shots i fire are invisible.

This was a bug during the last days of Beta.....


Nice to see they managed to fix it in time.

did they say they were going to try and fix this soon? also is this for all starfighters or just scyks?

No this was happining in my headhunter also, kinda s**tytoo when oinly one laaser is visible. Also it seems as if some fighters i can destroy very quickly then there are others that are invulnerable(tier 1 btw) I sit behind them and shoot away and they never blow up....

did this bug creep up in the last days of beta or was it there form the start of beta?

Definitely during the last days of Beta (might have been even the last day - 25/26th Oct patch), there was a thread on the Beta boards reporting it.

I didn't have it happen until today. It sure is annoying I agree, as you don't get to see any of the great explosions and most importantly your laser bolts. The team is aware of it though and though it's not my department, I'm sure itwill be fixed quickly.

Forget the "last" days of beta... it was there for several weeks... the big issue is that it is intermittent and depends on the number of objects/ships in space, and server and graphics load. Turn down "nebula density" in the graphics menu, and don't go into space at peak times or heavily loaded sectors (corellia, naboo, tatooine). Once people start spreading out and getting missions from trainers on other planets, this issue will diminish a lot, though it might never vanish entirely.

Are you aware of the invisibility of players too? It's still happening. It was happening in beta too. It han be fixed if you hyperspace somewhere, but that messes up missions. Also, that doesn't help anybody in starter ships.

This is because when you first launch into space for the first few missions, you are in your own instance of space

This was reported, and I can even tell you when it started. Same patch that the radar dots started "pulsating", same patch that folks said their ships were blinking in and out.

2 days before the final end of beta.

Eh? They left that bug in?


The one where entire spacestations and all ships around them could just become invisible?


The one where you yourself could become invisible, together with your NPC enemies (who were not affected)?


Suddenly I'm not so sure it's a bad thing that JTL isn't released here yet.
