Just picked up this stick along with the expansion today. I only had time to run two missions and try to get a feel for the space game. I'm not familiar with flight games or joysticks with all these buttons, so my questions are...
Are all these different buttons programable and if so does anyone have any suggestions on a good button set up. For example can the buttons be used to scroll through enemy targets without using the keyboard.
Also does anyone have any suggestions for the best set up for joystick sensitivity. Since i'm new to space and flight games i'd like to try and learn whatever method works best before I pick up any bad habits that'll hurt me in space combat later.
Can you master all 3 pilot trees or only the one that you are faction aligned with?
Lastly do you always have to go back to the planet's surface to get new missions to xp in space or can you just fly around certain zones and destroy things for xp?
Thanks,
Vosjo

I'm not sure if it's the same stick as yours, but I have the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and it works great with SWG.
The best way to program the various buttons is to go to your options (CTRL-0) and select the "Controls" tab. Then find the "Keymap" or "Key bindings" button (can't remember the exact name), and then you can rebind any key to a button on your stick. I maped primary and secondary fire as well as "Target enemy in reticle" to the top of the stick, and I mapped other targetting and boosters to the buttons on the stick's base (for mine, buttons 7-12).
I haven't messed with the sensitivity settings becuase the default settings feel fine to me.
As far as XP goes, you can rack up XP by just flying around and killing things, but there are some quests you must do in order to advance to the next skill. Your best bet is just to keep getting missions from your pilot trainer, and use the duty missions (they don't end until you land) to get lots of XP.
