this may have been asked before but when Im fighting in space, every time an enemy pilot appears claiming "youre no match for me; Ill shake you" or some other comment my pc freezes for a couple seconds, apart from then JTL runs perfectly.

is there any way to turn off the pilot appearing on screen, or is the momentary lockup an intended feature to give them a chance to follow through on their threats to eliminate my rebel ass.

athlon 2600@ around 3k I think

radeon 9800 pro

1GB PC3200 DDR @400mhz

I have exactly the same problem, I experience a freeze for about one second, when they radio me. Is the a command to ignore these messages?

which sorted it thankfully

I also bought a standalone soundcard instead of using my motherboards onboard sound and this has helped wonders for a steady high FPS instead of it fluctuating wildly in high traffic areas
