56k here. Not having any problems at all, except hitting the really fast ships. Other than I'm going good.

*raises hand to 56k*
yes me too
But, I get little lag on the ground (lag is mostly due to having bad RAM tbh, I have 1 gig so Im safe enough mostly).

Space, is great! on live I haven't had any problems so far, in beta there were some, but hey, thats beta so its expected.
So you should be fine, but it'd help if you have 1 gig ram, a good graphics card, etc etc.

I have dial up and rarely connect faster than 34k... Sucks I know. I don't have any problem in space as of yet. Of course I am waiting to see what will happen when it comes to large scale combat in pvp at some time in the future. Who knows what will happen then.

The likely cause of those with 56k who keep getting all round bad lag(besides bad phone line or isp)is most likely down to their modem being sorfware not hardware modem which makes all the difference. For those who are not aware of the difference a software 56k uses the Pc cpu to crunch all it'spacket data from analog to digital and back againwhere as a hardware got chip on there that does that works so doesn't give your cpu more work to do decreasing your over performance and getting lag. You'll be surprised how easy it is to pick up a 56k modem and not realise its a software not a hardware.
