Yeah, I noticed too that sometimes I hit most of the shots that I aim inside the "prediction" thingie or whatever it is, and sometimes I need to shoot between the ship and it.

Jep, the combat is on the server not the client, don't trust the client, you have to shoot so far infront of the enemy so you don't hit it on your side.. I hope they fix that ASAP, it wasn't that bad in beta..

target main reactor with Ion, then once disabled he was a sitting duck for me

After pummlingthe Blacksun Acefor about an hour on 3 diffrent attemps to finish Dravis's last mission I had to throw my hands in the air. I must have hit him200 times and barely dose it do any damage. I've killed the wing men I've reset the mission I've targeted components I've hit him from every angle. Some secretI should know? I did a search and others are having the same trouble along withtwo rl friends anyone heard anything new on this?

Same here. You have to pull the trigger and hit him continuosly, takes a little practice, I hunted for awhile in the astroid field then took him out no problem.

I think it introduces you to targetting subsystems. Once I figured that out I took him apart quick. Hope this helps.

Victory! Guess I posted 15 mins to soon. I figured out that in my case it is a targeting issue. I had to aim 3/4 of the way to the reticle in order for hits to count. I guess it's some kind sync issue../shrug. Thanks for the answers guys... oh and i did target subsystems to no avail.
