Thread: The things that are wrong/missing in SWG JTL

First of all, overall id like to say that I really like the space game. It is really good looking, and my ship handles really well with my joystick. That being said, there are some things that definately need to be changed, mostly UI type issues.
1.) Ship Status: I know we can click on the various things to get damage reports, but that is exceedingly difficult to do when in combat. We need some kind of display that shows a rouge idea of how much damage we are taking, or what systems are taking damage.
2.) Converging weaponry: the lasers are supposed to converge on each other. This is a much talked about point in the xwing novel series, along with the Xwing series of video games (in the most recent you could change the converge point distance.
3.) Sorosuub luxury yacht: this needs to be a combat worthy upgradable ship. Lando's was more than able to participate in a fight.
4.) numbers used in JTL: the abstract numbers for speed (meters a minute, im guessing) are really frustrating. I really wish you would stay in keeping with the star wars galaxy, and use MGLT, SBD, RU and BLS ratings for speed, shield strength, hull strength and laser damage like the books, reference books, and Xwing series of video games use.
5.) flashy laser energy/speed bar on the HUDs: I really dont like this. It isnt really neccesary, its just there for flash, and its not the way they had it in star wars. I know id really prefer a change back toward a more Xwing alliance LOOKING interface/HUD.
6.) better AI: it might just be because I am still in a Z95, but Im able to engage upwards of 10 TIEs at once and not get any hull damage. Im hoping that as I gain skills and better ships, I face smarter pilots who handle their craft more expertly and use more difficult tactics.
In all, tihs is a real sharp expansion. the looking outside the windows of the multiplayer craft is just amazing. great job with the graphics, lets get the UI and what have you up to speed with it.

The AI for the NPC ships does get better. Trust me. You'll get torn apart soon enough. It sucks to have 3 tier 3 ships tear you apart piece by piece.

1. During beta, when you took a hit, a popup readout opened saying what % integrity was left on the damaged part. You know, there are about 6 buttons on the right side of your screen that give engine, reactor etc.
If you got hit to the shields for say 11%, the shiled status popup would open up saying Shields---------89%...then it would close. And as the shields regenerated, itwould popup giving the status. It'd do it alot as the shields regened and I Guess someone complained andthey took it out cuz that doesnt happen anymore. Maybe ask them to reimplement it?
2. I'm sure they will fix this in future patches unless its all about continuity. If its a bug, look for a fix in a few weeks.
3. No, this is purely a tour ship. Thats why it is called a yacht. You don't see yachts in the navy (irl) do you? No u don't. In fact, the yacht needs invulnerablilty so it can be a touring ship.
4. Again, going with continuity. THey can't be 100% precise to the books and movies and references. Sometimes it is too difficult or complicated to implement or portray. For example, the SWG engine is based on meters, inplementing new measurements would require editing of the engine which can cause bugs and what not, its easier to be consistent with the ground system.
5. never flew the xwing in beta, cant comment
6. lol, dont worry my friend, it gets a lot harder as you progress.
Just give JTL some time, it only came out under a week ago, let the devs tweak somet things, fix bugs, adjust AI, and maybe, just maybe, alter some things to be more consistent with the SW universe

how about some other way of getting space missions other than the trainers
i mean a poxy 660 creds for 2 teir 2s ans a teir 3 ace i mean
come on people we need more space based missions

the gap in XP required 7500 for teir 1 boxes then 60000 for teir 2??
too big a jump, hell JTL must mean you have to grind at lightspeed to get anywhere
renaming the game to Starwars : Grindaxies - jump to stupid xp gaps
