Thread: Missles and Launchers don't work for me...any ideas?

I am currently at 2/2/1/1 pilot. I have a TIE/in and recently purchased Proton Missle Launcer (and missles), a Mark II Proton Missle Launcher (and mkII missles), a chaff launcher and a micro-chaff launcher. I can add any of the launchers to my ship. When I try to load the appropriate ammo in the launcher (Mark II missles in the Mark II launcher, etc...) it does not let me and tells me:

"You have loaded XX missles into your XX missle launcher"
"(unlocalized) This object cannot be mamipulated by you"

This happens for all launchers and ammo. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

do you have a capacitor installed? perhaps you are over your power levels.

I have a capicator and plenty of power left to meet the requirements of the launcher.
My ship is fully loaded, with about 2500 energy left to spare.
It also has over 8k mass left.

This happens for me also. I think when reloading a chaff or missle launcher, it is taken off of your ship, and you have to put it back on. When using the manage screen, open the ordinance section, the launcher will sometimes unload itself, then load it back on and add the ammo. I still get the message that says i cant manipulate them, but it still loads. I think the message is a bug.Make sureby checking components on your datapad, it displays the launchers and how many shots each have left if its loaded properly.


If the launcher isnt loaded onto the ship when you try to use it in space, it will say 'Weapon Disabled' when you try to launch a missle or chaff. If its just empty, it will say so also. If there is no message when using it, make sure youve keymapped the commands properly. Check in your control panel and make sure the launch ordinance and launch countermeasure commands are properly keymapped.


Thats all i can think of, hope it helps.

Yes, that is exactally what happens. The launcher is removed from the ship. When I removed then re-added the launcher it listed 12/12 ammo.

It didn't unload the launcher for me, it just loaded the missiles and still gave me the error message. The concussion missiles were another deal altogether. When I loaded the launcher it was already full of rounds that I did not buy. Once those were gone though it could not be refilled, so I went back to the proton launcher.


BTW, it takes forever to get a lock with the concussion missiles. But when you DO, its is wonderful. One of the best visuals I've ever seen in the game. Seriously.

Even though you get this message, the missles are loaded - When you launch into space you should start seeing (and hearing) the lock-ons working.

You'll need to bind a button/key to 'fire current ordinance group' to fire the missles.
