Alright, I've noticed alot of you have misconceptions about how you make the Firespray and so I'd like to clear them.
-Many of the loot in space is made up of ship parts made from Star Wars companies which can be reverse engineered by Shipwrights.
-When a part made by Kuat(KSE) is reverse engineered, there is a small chance that you may receive a numbered data disc.
-Once all 8 discs are retrieved, a shipwright can combine them in order to get a schematic to build the firespray.
-I don't know if this has changed, but in Beta the schematic had unlimited uses.
-Tada, you now have a Firespray.

Just a small correction. The schematic wasn't unlimited use. It looked like it was, but after having made 8-10 Firesprays it went poof.

And let the lucky get rich.
I can imagine 1 piece going for 20 mil.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but it won't be rare enough for any mill. I got 5 of the peices doing the easy missions. Don't let that discourage you though, while everyone may get one they will barely use it. It's a HUGE target in space, might as well have a bulls eye.

Okay Thats good to know, I didnt do any of the craftng/shipwright during beta. I was just a pilot, but I did get tons of the Kuat pieces for loot, just never got them Reversed

Really? Hmm... I wonder if they upped the drop rate on them in that case. I've been in beta for a month and I only ever got one piece. I haven't been on much the last week though. Oh well, I think it's just a good thing if it's made less rare actually.

Maybe they lowered the rate later on, I played mostly in the begining. Plus were you a master Shipwright? They have the best chances of getting the disc.

Ah... yes they lowered the drop rate quite a bit. In the beginning you got some loot virtually every time you destroyed an enemy, now it's more like it is on the ground. After randomly killing stuff in space for an hour I usuallydon'tget more than three or for pieces of loot.So less lot drops - less components to reverseengineer - less schematic fragments.
And yes I was master SW. Are you sure that makes any difference though? This is the first time I've ever heard that mentioned. They are better at REing, but does that really affect the drop rate of the discs... ?

I have been REing all week and I haven't seen one disk... is there something you have to do during the RE process? Do you have to rename the item? (I simply click through that part since all names are reserved anyway).
