Thread: Astromech and flight computers, what exactly use are they?

Maybe im at a huge disadvantage, but i have yet to use a flight computer or astromech or droid interface in my ship, and I am up to 2-2-2-2 in imperial pilot. I have only died once or twice in missions, am I missing some huge advantage with these components? As an imperial which components to I need, a flight computer or a droid?

As an imperial pilot a flight computer programmed with droid commands will let you tweak your engines and weapons a bit for a little extra umph. I use the weapons overload ocassionally and it boosts my damage a little bit so it comes in handy once in awhile.

I'm at 3/3/2/2, and have never used them. Any Imp pilots who have used them know anything about this? I'd be curious to know this, as well.

well you can only use a flight computera and priveteers are in the same boat

On ships with larger mass and slower speed, Engine Overload can be a great boon as it adds a fair amount of speed to your ship. I don't really care for Weapon Overload, it drains my capacitor too quickly. I prefer to use the tech 'Emergency Weapons'. I don't know about Rebel or Neutral FC/Astro advantages, but someone on the beta boards was saying that reactor overload is almost essential for neutral pilots, because it allows you to go with a lighter reactor.
