If you're a rebel, and soloing it, please shut the hell up about other people's piloting, especially since those having difficulty are most likely Imperial (possibly privateer, but I don't know enough about that to say one way or another). Let's look at the stats of the comparable Tier 3 ships.

Rebel: X-Wing, 100k mass

Projectile weapons: 3

Missles: 2

Imperial: TIE Interceptor, 50k mass

Projectile weapons: 1

Missles: 1

Now, the Imps have the TIE Bomber, which has 190k mass, with 2 projectile weapons and 2 missles. However, the X-wing is a fighter, not a bomber, that's supposed to be the Y-wing. Also, the TIE bomber handles like a Hutt in space, no matter WHAT kind of engine you have in it. That said, the X-wing and the TIE bomber cannot be compared, so we're comparing the fighters only.

Looking at that, the X-wing vastly overpowers the TIE Interceptor, yet according to the databank on starwars.com, the Interceptor was suppposed to have been created by the Empire to counter the X-wing (still other sources have theinterceptor as being created to counter the A-wing, but I digress). So yeah, I'm pretty sure I could solo the Tier 3 and 4 missions if I had the same mass as the X-wing, as it would allow me to put some pretty sweet shields and weapons in my interceptor.

So if you're a rebel, please do us all a favor and don't post on those boards who are saying the missions are hard to solo. And no, I don't believe that everything should be solo, but I DO believe these missions should be scaled to the type of craft useable, especially since the first Tier 3 mission for Imps, we're still sitting in a TIE/ln (if we are using the latest craft at our disposal). Hell, even the freaking A-wing has 65k mass, and has the same weapon ration as the interceptor.

In the very LEAST, the interceptor should have the same mass as the A-wing.

Well said. I wouldn't even mind giving up my missle slot for a little more mass and another projectile weapon.

Yep. I got stuck at 2222 Storm SQ on my alt doing imp pilot so I started doing reb pilot(tyrena) with my other char, they're so darn easy compared.. Seriously. Easy.

I did all of tier 4 except for the last mission in an A-wing which has 1 weapon slot and 60k mass. So dont say the X-wing has a big advantage because it doesnt. Also the tie interceptor gets 4 guns for its 1 slot.

Yes I am a rebel and yes, I want to stay by your side, Imp

You are right about everything you said about the TIE Interceptor. It should be compared to the X-wing. At least give him 1 weapon more.

And one thing more:

As a rebel you get less exp for killing a TIE Interceptor than a TIE/In from the same Tier....

I think there is something terrible wrong. The Interceptor should be better than the TIE - far better.

In my backgroundmaterial is stated that both fighters (X-wing and TIE Interceptor) are nearly the same match so only the pilot skill decides in a head-to-head fight.

Us Privateers get no good fighter. I have a Rihkzyrk, "The Brihk", 130k mass, handles like the name. The Kihraxz (30k mass) and Ixiyen (80k mass) have very low mass, and the next good fighter that at least handles half-way decent is the Kimo, which only has a 90k max mass.

Yes, its sad I have to use a bomber to do my dogfighting in. Im currently 3332 imperial pilot and had a VERY hard time soloing the tier 3 missions. I mean the levels were insane when you only get a 50k mass 1p/1m flying pin needle. Get rid of the missle slot and give us 4p/0m ffs. I dont even like missles anyways

No, we get ONE weapon for that slot. The TIE bomber gets two weapons, so you can equip an Ion cannon and a laser or disruptor cannon. With the interceptor, you can ONLY equip an ion cannon OR a disruptor OR a laser cannon. It would seem that way, only because we're firing four bolts, but damage wise, it's the same as if the ship were only shooting two bolts.

Given the fact that an X-wing has the four lasers on the tips of their wings, it would seem that they should only be able to equip 2 projectile weapons, rather than 3. Where is that other projectile weapon firing from? And the interceptor SHOULD get two projectile weapon slots, and more mass.
