I dont know if this has been mentioned in any other previous posts, or during beta.
Last night i wanted to go help someone do the Rebel ACE mission. so we all trooped over to Kessel. (wicked place) Only problem with it, is communication. due to not finding the corvette, our group split up and started searching for it.
I also know programs exist out there that DO voice comms. but surely SOE could do a license agreement to get their software working in game? so we can all sit with head phones on talking to people rather than pressing "enter" then typing as fast as we can. for things like. "All wings form up" "attack my target?" or even better, can we not get the motes to say things out loud? like small mp3 files of, in flight motes?
Can any dev respond about the logistics about implementing this in game.
And before anyone says a word. I HAVE VENTRILLO installed, no one else uses it.

It's so easy to use TS, it wouldn't be cost-efficient for SOE to implement, because TS is free.

Most of my guild is using Ventrillo.....
The only problem we've encountered is that sometimes when one guildie logs on, another guildie can no longer transmit. But connecting and disconnecting solves the problem.
I use a microphone/headset that has a built in mute button for the mic, so I don't have to worry about using a keyboard hotkey to talk.
It all seems to work for us.
I rented server space for about $5 a month to run the ventrillo server (so I don't have to worry about it). It was worth it to avoid the hassles of opening ports and configuring 3 different firewalls to run the server myself.
Your results may vary....

Quite, our guild (like many others, I am sure) has its own teamspeak server. Definitely required for JTL IMO.

Oh, yeah. We were so much more efficient as a squadron with it.

theres no reason ppl shouldn't use TS for their guilds. its a great program. i wouldn't be able to have a conversation in combat without it. great for team/guild grouphunts and the like.
