Thread: Suggestion: Loot in space that can be used in ground game and vice versa

I like the idea in principle, but they would probably just tack on the ground loot tables and we would end up getting CDEF's!

Actually though I think it is a good idea. Already some of the loot is interesting as I have no problem selling the "imperial daily news" on the bazaar.

It's nice to be able to get great parts looted off destroyed ships (and a little bit of money), but I think it would be great as well if we could loot weapons, buffs, clothing, armor, etc. from ships. By the same token, it would be good to kill stuff on the ground and get space loot (a new capacitor, weapons, ammo, shield generators, whatever).


If this exists already, I haven't seen it. I would like to see the devs make a greater effort to integrate the space and ground games. Right now, it feels basically like two games.

This would be a good opportunity to make good useof docking. Leave the normal space component loot as is and add ground-based loot available upon successful docking of specific ship types. (i.e. freighters, spice smugglers, etc., etc.)

Sounds good, but I all ready see the response, "It would mess up the system because of those that don't have JTL". Like I said it sound's good, just don't see it happening.

It will be happening a little bit with the next patch. Currently on Test Center you can loot a special wearable helmet from Blacksun Fighters. I think its called the "Blacksun Ace's Helmet" or something like that. There's some pics of it in the TC forums.

I would like to know why there is a new menu entry on the bazaar for Asteroids, among other new listings that dont have items to fit in there catagories yet.

Clothing and non-sensibles I can see, but nothing worth monetary value will drop in JTL because of the loot system it has. You loot A LOT of stuff, much much more than the ground game, and if they let you loot ground guns and stuff for ground sales and use it would be game breaking due to the vastness of the amount of drops in space.

I suppose some might say that, but can't those without JTL buy and sell JTL items now? I mean, just because you don't have JTL doesn't mean that you can't buy up engines, reactors, ship deeds and so forth and re-sell them, does it? My point is that players without JTL already have an effect on players with JTL.


Also, from a marketing standpoint, what's wrong with rewarding people who buy JTL? That's what SOE should be doing. Buy an expansion, you get more stuff. Don't buy the expansion, you don't get the same opportunities for new loot. They shouldn't be ashamed of that. Every other game does it.
