I dont remember who suggested it. The fix for rubberbanding in space doesnt work at all. I launched into space and everything once again was going all over the place. I used
/flushgraphicsresources fullreset
Once it reloaded (took all of 5 secs) everything continued to rubberband and in some cases ever worse than before.
If anyone has any other temp fixes for this please let me know I would appreciate it.
In case anyone asks here are my systems specs
2.5 GHz AMD Athlon XP
1 gig Dual Channel
128 DDR Nvidia Geforce FX 5950
DirectX 9.0C
Latest Nvidia Drivers
/flushgraphicsresources fullreset

Hmm Nvidia, I know a friend in guild who had this exact same problem, and she has a nvidia also. If you just got the latest driver, revert back to an older. Supposdely this fixed it for her (if you're talkinga bout jumping all over the place in space for some reason, or see other people jumping all over the place).

Yeah i figured it might be something like that as well, but im pretty sure that its not the case since my alt computer which is the exact same computer I have parts and all. (Since I built them both
) It doesnt have the rubberband effect and both systems are using all the same drivers and have both been updated.
Ive tried the drivers advice anyway before in the past. The rubberbanding didnt occur for 3 weeks straight and after the series of publishes started going in it started back up again. As always my alt computer still doesnt have the problem with rubberband even after the publishes and hotfixes. So i dont believe its anything to do with my system even tho im still running tests on it as we speak. I just believe its something client side that hasnt been found quite yet.

supposedly viruses, adware, and spyware can cause things to do that as well.

@Blackedge: New nVidia driver? I tried the beta driver SOErecommended but it seems to cause problems for me so I'm thinking of reverting back. By "new" do you refer to those beta drivers?

Come on lol, graphic drivers can't be the cause of a rubber banding effect in a network game.
Who made you think it could? Network could, game engine could, but graphic board...... no!

And you are employed by....NOT SOE, I would guess, so unless you know this for sure save your opinions for your own inflated ego. You want to explain why when I have 2 clients running on 2 pc's, one following the other on swoops, the leader rubberbands and the follower does circles around the leader? When running on the same network? The hardware is different, so it could be any of the hardware involved but please, until you have the first hand knowledge as a SWG server programmer, shut the (expletive deleted) up.

Most of the rubberbanding problems in the game are due to the client connection to the server. There have been rubberbanding issues with the game since release back in 2003, I guess they have just become more serious with the JTL expansion. I believe it has something to do with the server losing data from the client, or thinking the client can't go somewhere, and then it jumps them back to a previous position. Another reason is a sync issue between the client and the server. When they resync after becoming out of sync sometimes ships will jump around.
I can gurantee it is not a graphics issue in the game because many different people on many different hardware sets have had the rubberbanding issue. I personally use an ATI card and have rubberbanding issues at some points in time.
By the way, in nearly every single network game out there any sort of rubberbanding is caused by client lag. When the client resyncs with the server the characters on their screen will jump to the appropriate position.

Look, I am not saying it IS the graphics card, but you DEFINITELY cannot say it is not because you are not a SWG server programmer in the employ of SOE. Until we have a dev state in no uncertain terms that the graphics driver has nothing to do with rubberbanding, then it's fair game as far as I'm concerned.
I happen to agree with you, since they always seem to be able to fix it without telling people to change their drivers. But don't be like all the other dweebs out there that think they know how SWG code works.

Using an Asus A7N8X motherboard with a nforce chipset? I significantly reduced the rubberbanding by swapping out the motherboard for one without the nforce chipset, removed it entirely by switching to a P4.

It always seems to sneak its way back in though. It really got bad when the added vehicles. Before that it only happened to me consistently when leaving coronet and running towards the water. Now, it happens no matter where I am, but I've never gotten it in space.
