And when I logged in I got a screen with the 3 faction signs (I think) however I pressed Back and now cannot get that screen again. How do I make it show up again?

Its just a screen to help you choose what pilot faction you want. It transports you there after you selected too. If you cant get it back then you will have to look for the individual trainers for the specific faction you want to fly for.
