Thread: About missile packs

I'm posting this here because it concerns pilots and shipwrights.

I think the number of missiles in a missile pack is too low, especially since you can't reload while in space.

Does anyone else agree with me here? If there's a general support could pilot and shipwright correspondants put it to the devs?

It's a balance issue. If missiles per magazine were increased, the damage would have to decrease, otherwise it'd be too simple to take down capital ships. Well, easier than it is already.

That and the larger ships can have multiple launchers. My Decimator can have three launchers. All loaded up that's 36 missiles, alot of firepower.

Yeah I can see that. It's just that if you're doing a duty mission, it's rather annoying that you can't let rip with your missiles because you know they're going run out really quickly.

I can see that too, but the thing is, the number of launchers on any given ship is fixed. Therefore it shouldn't matter how mucy you increase the magazine size because each ship will still have the same relative amount of missiles.

Perhaps what we need instead of increased missile pack size, is an option for a auxilliary magazine that can hold missile packs to be reloaded in space. The extra magazine would take up mass, thereby making it a tradeoff.

As a pilot and a shipwright, though, I don't want to see missile pack size increased.

Yeah I saw you post that on the new wishlist thread. I'd go along with that idea.
