Thread: Weapon does not fire :(

Hi there...


I've an M22 Krayt, armed with 4 weapons.


I'm using Reactor and Capacitor Overload 4.

None of my weapons are disabled or damaged.


The weapon under the cockpit does not fire. When i'm alone in my M22, the turret gun's firing ...


Can someone explain ?

Not sure if I'm all correct on this one, but hey, if it helps. A friend of mine had a similar problem, so we decided to look into the gun setup on the krayt.


First , check your weapon group assignments (press G while in space) and see what you have designated to fire and when, it is possible that your turret is assigned to a group, and the gun emplacement under the cockpit is not assigned at all.


Nextof all check your reactor energy and make sure that none of your components are suffering from low power. You can only overload the reactor so much...


If that doesn't work, make sure you know which gun is firing from where. The krayt has 4 gun slots, and for the sake of understanding, I'll designate them slots 1, 2, 3, and 4, with the slot corresponding with the order of weapon slotson the management screen. Slot 2 is for the gunner, and is on the top of the craft. Now slots 1, 3, and 4 are fired by the pilot. I'm not perfectly sure on this one, but slot 4 should be the gun emplacement that is on both wings, slot 1 is the emplacement under the cockpit, and slot 3should fire from 4 (I think) separate areas of the craft, including from the top, close to the turret gun. Depending on your bolt effects and your weapon group assignments, slot one firing may be difficult to see. Mess around with the gun setup and see if that solves the issue.

There seems to be a whole series of Sienar Design Systems components, all level 10, that do not work at all. They have no model or anything, but you can put them on your ship, they take up mass and energy. I've sent a bug report on two so far, an engine and a weapon, no response from the Devs.


Not sure if it's the same deal, but I figured it was worth mentioning.

If it's a RE'd gun, send ina ticket, they reimbursed me for the guns when this occured. Otherwise, there's alot of 'special ops' or guns with the word 'special' in them with this issue. Just hold onto them for when this gets fixed, or havea try with a RE with this (make sure it isn't the main gun in the RE).

There are lots of Loot gun types that do not render in a Krayt or Kimogila. The fire effect and damage will appear and be added to any working gun. Best solution is to load the gun into your wingtip mount, and enjoy the added dmg on your top/bottom and turret.


It's been bugged a lot, by me an others, and hopefully someday soon it will get addressed. Until then, enjoy the bug.
