I've heard people talk about loosing an engine in space combat. How does this happen? Normally when I die in space nothing decays. Am I just missing something? Thanks for the enlightenment.

sometimes they totaly decay im not sure, just as clueless as you:/

I think the decay comes when you repair your ship, for example if youe engins have 200 armor and 200 hitpoints, and you take damage so that your armor dops to 0 and your hitpoints to 100, you go get reapired but your new totals will be 180armor & 190 hitpoints ( this is an example I don't know the % talen of the top stat) thus if you keep getting damaged you will end up with a 0 hitpoint engin.
