I am probably miss something but i am on a mission to get hostage report from Nyms officers. It says to disable ship and /dock to retrieve hostage orders. i beat the ship down till it stops moving and try to dock. Everytime i try i get denied. How am i supposed to do this? any suggestions? trying to run the mission now

You need to diable the Engine and Reactor (sometimes the Engine is sufficient) and then you should be able to /dock.

Targeting the subsystems is the keys "]" and "[" on the english keyboard...
