Well im sure we all get a little annoyed by the endless stream of commlink images of the NPC's talking to us. But I was wondering why players cant send those as well? I think it would add a bit more personality to space myself. At the very least the preset messages should work like that.

The day JTL came out, I hopped in my yacht and flew around for a few minutes. I went back to the Naboo station, hit \ and converesed with the station lady. I was soo hoping that you could hit \ and converse with players this way too....even group members Id be happy with. Oh well.

Yeah it would be cool to converse with players like that. I know it would be highly-unlikely, but in-game voice (players using microphones/headsets) in space would be really awesome. Even if the quality is crap, that would make space a lot more fun for me at least.

It wouldn't be too hard to impliment. Just set it up that if you are in space and you send a /tell to someone else that is in space, it shows them a quick shot of your character in whatever outfit you're wearing. It would also be best to add an option for players to turn it off if they don't want to be bothered by it all the time, though the ability to turn it off should be seperate from turning off the NPC taunts, since I'm sure there are a lot of players who would like to be able to see other players but not NPCs. You could also put a timer on it so that if you and a friend and talking a lot back and forth with /tells real quickly, then it wouldn't continuously pop up his picture.

Well, the mechanics for it are there. Open your inventory sometime while you're in space and have a look in the lower-left hand corner. The game doesn't forget what you look like, even when you're in space.
The real trouble, I guess, would be loading everybody else on-the-fly like that when they send you a /tell. It might have to be restricted to group members.
But then, what do I know? I'm just guessing, mostly.

its not impossible, Earth and Beyond had that system for /tells and group members. Its not laggy and the people's mouths moved when they sent you a /tell. Adding voice communication is a bad idea, but showing the person's picture if they send you a /tell or talk in group is a great idea. Yes, it is already in the game, and yes the game can already remember what you wear in space, it would a great idea if this was implemented in space. It would give more of the SW feel. There was also an option to toggle it on or off in the options menu.

I've always wished our faces would come up when we send a tell or something. Voice chat, eh, I could do without. But just the picture of the person sending us a /tell and a little gibberish would be awsome.

Cool guess im not the only one to notice it was'nt there. Its just right now Space feels a little bland. Your groupmates are just ships floating around an there is no feeling of uniqueness about them especially if they are all using the same ship chassis. With little Commlink messages it would just help make the group feel different I think.

Thats defintely a great idea, to just have a template of a blue star warsy background to over shadow the straight picture of your characters face to make it look like one of the npc ones would be fantastic, simply fantastic..
Soon you could sent mail in game that could have the option to be like this if your desired, like some of the holonet images sent around in the films or books (but primarily in SPACE)
