I'm a reb pilot 2111, and flying a longprobe y-wing, and to be honest I'm finding it a bit lame. I can take out tier 1 and 2 ships easily, but tier 3 ships it takes an age, to even break from the shields. Wondering if it was the ship,or me, as asked a friend who is a higher ranking neutral pilot, to log onto my account, and take the ship for a spin. He likened it to having the flying ability of a brick, and spent 5 mins chasing and hitting a tier 3,without even getting 1/2 way through the shields. This was my experience, and found it extremely slow for leveling, for it takes a few mins to drop a tier 3 for 1.2k xp, or 100 or 400 xp for tier1 and 2 ships.
Is there a significant increase in the longprobes effectiveness once I reach 2211, and can have better components. The compoments I have at present, are pretty high spec for 1&2 components.
any help or guidance appreciated

Well at that point in grinding you should have chosen the equipment certs rather than the ship cert. This way you would have tougher blasters to eat through your enemy. The problem with tier 3 ships as you state them is that they have really good shields as opposed to tier 1 or 2 blasters. You need stronger blasters if you want to compete. The first box i did, i was grinding off of 400exp ships until i could get new blasters.

BadDawGe is right!
I"m currently 3,3,2,2 and at each new tier my first box to train has been the one that givescomponent certs. I then go out and buy the highest level components I can afford and put them in my current ship. THEN I decide if I need a new ship or maybe something else; on TIER III I decided I needed an X-Wing and went for that after I got my component cert box. So far this strategy has worked out pretty good for me. Oh, one more thing. I skipped the Long Probe. Couldn't see any real advantage in getting it. I used my Y-Wing until I got my X-Wing.
Over and out!

ahh righto thanks. the reason I went 2111 as opposed to 1211, was that with with the standard y wing having only 1 weapon when flown solo.
regarding costs, its not really an issue, as I'm in a close knit commmuity, including a long time gaming friend who is a master ship wright, so ships and components don't cost me anything ( nor do his top spawn resources for making the components, as I supply those)
many thanks

ok i have a question my friend bought a y wing cuz he can fly it and we wanted a ship we could use to take down imps together. lol. anyways we put in the stuff and we take off. well he is flying and my screen just shows like space. it was like just stars and a planet i could not see anything. i also entered messages but he could not hear them. oh i was in the gunner seat. any idea why this was happening ? how do we fix it?

Sounds to me like the visual bug that was associated with master level MP ships awhile ago. Did you try to land and come back up? Maybe try making your own Ywing and have him sit in the gunners spot.

If no weapon is equiped in the gunner position, all you do is stare at the stars. Try removing, reinstalling, and/or replacing the gunners blaster...
