I'm having the worst control in my TIE Bomber. My Pitch Yaw & Roll rate is all over 60. I can use up to 7 certified stuff. When I try to turn it's really sluggish and I seem to over roll a lot now compared to the TIE/In. What am I doing wrong here?

Are you using 100% throttle? Most ships function better with only 50-66% throttle applied and the bomber applies in a big way. The oversteering you mention is a side effect of the larger mass your ship has to deal with. Before you would instantly turn directions and stop rolling but with a bomber it can take a second or 2 to reverse a turn and stop rolling. You'll adjust, just make sure you play with your throttle when in a turn fight.

She's a tricky ship to fly. Try to get the hang of understeering a tad bit so when it decides to oversteer you land right on target. Rolling is your friend too, turning on 2 axis' really helps get to your target quicker. Once you get the hang of it you can lay down beatings from a pretty good distance on most things. And, like the previous poster mentioned, mess with your throttle till youre at your best turning radius.

One of my favorite things to do while PvEing in the bomber is 'Jousting'. Fighters often love to come at you head on, but with 190-200k mass you can pack on some serious components and take them out before they pass you.

Make sure you're using droid commands as they become availiable to you, they make life much easier.

The bomber is quite the unique monster, I still love flying her in DS for taking out vettes, you might need help if theres big fighter escorts around - so have a wingman. And definately don't take her out there if there's a ton of overts in DS, and if you do, make sure your 2 missile bays are fully loaded to try and dispatch someone before you get pwnt up close - you'd be suprised how many people neglect loading anti-ordinance in their ships.

Heh, if you ever upgrade and fly a new, lighter chassis, it feels like your flying with training wheels its so easy.

As much as I love the TIE bomber, I gave mine up just recently. Lets look at the stats between a Bomber and a Decimator:

NAME WEAPONS SPD ACC DEC PITCH YAW ROLL MASS

TIE bomb2 G/0 T/2 M .85 10 15 50 50 25 190K

Decimator 0 G/2 T/3 M .80 5 5 50 50 37.5 5 MIL

Lets compare, The Bomber gets to go a little bit faster and acceleration and deceleration are a bit faster.

But then again, your never at full speed when in combat, 60-75% speed is optimal for manuverability.

The Pitch and Yaw are exactly the same, but look. The Decimators Roll is 12.5 higher! I dont know how but somehow the Decimator can handle better than a Bomber in combat.

And then, compared to a TIE/IN and Interceptor:

NAME WEAPONS SPD ACC DEC PITCH YAW ROLL MASS

TIE/IN 1 G/0 T/1 M .98 40 60 300 300 200 40K
TIE bomb 2 G/0 T/2 M .85 10 15 50 50 25 190K

TIE int. 1 G/0 T/1 M 1.0 40 60 300 300 150 50K

Ok, obvious advantage, Bomber has nearly 4x the mass and has doubled the guns/ordnance. But when it comes to handling the TIE/IN is so much better while for Speed the Interceptor is just a bit better. If your good at squeezing, you can make a very good interceptor and since your obviously certified to use an interceptor (since you can use a bomber) I'd suggest an interceptor.

Although the Advanced is probably one of the best.

Captain Awari Wiri - Imperial Sniper - Sunrunner
"Since only Officers get bonus resistances with battle armor, the best stormtroopers must be officers. I guess in some view this is probably why George depicted them as horrible shots in the original trilogy, because they were too busy arguing over who was of higher rank to aim accurately."
