If you are and or have done the very first mission this 'lady' gives, how in gods game are you supposed to steal the Corsair ships??

I have destroyed the 2 fighter corsair ships that you have no option but to pummel and then I go and start blasting the main Corsair ship. It gets to the point where it explods and another smaller ship is waiting, at least that's the impression I got. If you destroy it you fail the mission, if you insepct it does diddly-squat as does most other things I've tried in the 6 or 7 attempts I've tried.

Any help please?

I believe looking in your Quest Journal will give you detailed instructions on Disabling this ship. Key skill in this and future missions. [ or ] keys to cycle through targetable systems, then shoot until disabled.

General note: your journal is almost always specific about what you need to do to succeed. learn to rely on it, and learn to reference often instead of trying to suss your goal from NPC dialog or Mission Spam.

Thanks for the responses. I did indeed simply have to cycle through the ship main components to disable it. Now all I have to do is to stop it from being destroyed once we've hijacked it!! I'll leave that until 2morrow.

You will have to take out its engines using [ and ] then /dock with it.

Yeah you must disable by targeting it's reactors or engines (engines are usually easiest).... use the keys next to the "P" ----> " [ " and " ] " you will see in the upper right hand corner of your HUD red words specifying "reactor 100%", "engine 100%", "Weapon1 100%" etc.

Once disabled, close right next to it "inspect" and you can /dock or use the " U " key which is bound for docking.
