On Farstar it is anyway.
Tried in 3 places to get a group going last night, Eisley, Bestine, Coro.
Nothing.
hardly even saw anyone, let alone anyone with an interest in grouping.
Unfortunately I am a UK player who does not yet have JTLS (no doubt you are all aware of the problem).
This is bad, the ground game is so dead it's hardly worth playing cos' everyone and their dog is in space
Except us who can't get it yet, very poor marketing decision by Activision this

The hell have you been??
Activision is responsible for distribution of JTLS for UK. They're having problems. It is out of SOE's and LucasArts' hands.

Maybe it's because the servers are down
Ground game seems fine on Starsider, at least last night it was. Plenty of people in the usual places.

Give it another week or two. Everyone will be back on the ground while you're in space.

I beg to differ
On Chilastra, I still see plenty of people in our town, plenty of people in other towns, and now any place with a starport is FULL of people. I have ZERO problems finding a doc to heal my wounds now (they are available now to heal starship combat wounds). The big cities are important places now. Also as a covert reb, I am finding I can run Imperial missions and not have to worry about my TEF because all the IImps are off in Kessel or wherever. Hell Tatooine on Chilastra is practically a Rebel planet now (rebs roam the streets of Mos Espa killing STs at will)
I am finding more vendors stocked, more people on the ground looking for resources, more people hunting on the ground, commerce has increased.
Yes a lot of folks took to the space lanes but they are coming back to the ground. There is no choice but to play the ground game, even if you are a space fighter. You have to come down to buy parts, get healed, get missions, do decent repairs, etc.
I am not suprised about the lack of grouping, but then thats nothing new either. SWG does not have much incentive to doing a group because there is really nothing that cannot be accomplished alone (just takes more time). JTL hasnt changed that one way or another.
anyway there is plenty of ground game still out there, but I can see how on less populated servers id wouldnt look that way. As a Ranger/Shipwright I have no choice but to play the ground game as I need to run harvesters, I need to survey, I need to locate resources to progess and make profit from my Shipwright vendor.
If you need something to do, make a Surveyor and find me lots of Inert Petrochemical ;-)

There is a lack of players in general it seems on most servers. I know on naritus i was the ONLY person in the village on dathomir, and when i passed through theed i saw a whopping 2 people outside the spaceport, none inside. Still im a brit so space will have to wait.

Well there are good numbers of people. But
Player cities are deserted.
The design has a fatal flaw....
There are WAY too many cities and not dense enough population.
The Emotional response is a feeling of sadness and being lonely for a lot of people.
This results in maybe 40%+ of SWG's cancellations.
The new city structures and MAYOR vote system should of been implemented on the EXISTING SWG
cities... not new ones.
Fatal long term error in management judgement to allow player cities.

JTL is new and shiny. Just give it a month and people will start on the ground again. Right now, many people are complaining that being in space costs a lot of money. If that is true (I have not found it to be expensive) there will be many people running around killing mokk on Dantooine.

Maybe more people would group if the community window wasn't soovercomplicated.
I bet more people would use it if it became simplified like City of Heroes' grouping window.
